This crash course in Windows Mobile software development helps prepare you for the Windows Mobile sessions to be presented at Tech∙Ed Orlando on June 3–6. Even if you are not going to Tech∙Ed, you can learn a lot about developing applications for Windows Mobile devices by simply attending this webcast series. In part one of the series, you get a high-level introduction to developing managed applications for Windows Mobile devices. Learn about the development tools, get a demonstration of creating applications for Windows Mobile 6 devices using C# and Microsoft Visual Basic .NET, and become familiar with using the Device Emulator to test your applications.

Maarten Struys works as a technical manager and Windows Embedded evangelist at PTS Software in the Netherlands. Maarten has worked with managed code in the Microsoft .NET Framework environments since 2000. He has experience with Windows CE and has worked with Windows Mobile development since its introduction. Maarten speaks regularly at Microsoft Mobile & Embedded Developer Conference (MEDC), MEDC Europe, Mobile Connections, and Tech Ed. He is also a freelance journalist, writing for the leading magazine about embedded systems development in the Netherlands. Constanze Roman is a community program manager with the Windows Mobile Content, Community and Engagement team. She has been working with the Windows Mobile and Windows Embedded operating systems for more than seven years, writing content on networking, security, and many other features.
