In this session, we explore the new features of Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0. We illustrate how many of its new features can be used to create a more centralized method of Web server management and configuration. We focus on the new tools and structures in IIS 7.0, which can help administrators maintain a more centralized Web server configuration. We start by describing how a new group of configuration files has replaced the metabase that was used in previous versions of IIS. Then we look closely at various techniques and options available in IIS 7.0 for building centralized Web server configurations. We explain how these techniques enable you to build more robust and manageable server farms and help Web hosts maintain a more stable and scalable enterprise. Then we explore the features of the new FTP system for IIS 7.0 and describe how they can be used for administrators of corporate Web sites, in addition to Web hosting companies. And finally, we look at the new troubleshooting tools built into IIS 7.0. Join us to see how there are many new tools available in IIS 7.0 that can help administrators quickly pinpoint problems and keep Web servers fully operational.
