Presenter: Jad Honein, Microsoft IT Software Development Engineer, Microsoft Corporation

Jad Honein is a software development engineer at Microsoft IT. His team is responsible for auditing custom solutions built on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 internally at Microsoft. In addition to driving reviews of customs solutions, his team collaborates very closely with the SharePoint Server product group since the early beta versions of the product, in addition to giving them feedback for upcoming versions. His team role gave them a broad overview on SharePoint Server and best practices on how to build efficient, optimized, and cohesive custom solutions on top of the SharePoint Server platform. Jad's role as a developer is to come up with the best coding practices and to determine how to maximize features of the product when it makes sense to extend them, while staying inline with product. The solutions that Jad's worked on are modular, extensible, and configurable. A key accomplishment of his work is that Microsoft patented five of the solutions he worked on. Those projects were made available as platform solutions to be used by any internal SharePoint Server implementation.
