Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) is a new component in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 that helps companies to extend their authentication infrastructure across enterprise and organizational boundaries. Distributed File System Replication (DFSR) is a new, integrated Windows Server replication technology with significant improvements over its predecessor, File Replication service (FRS). These improvements include scheduling, throttling, advanced health reporting, and its own Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) pack.

Brian Puhl is a Systems Engineer on the Windows Infrastructure Engineering team within the Microsoft IT group. Brian is responsible for the internal Microsoft Active Directory forests that support the more than 60,000 Microsoft employees. He joined Microsoft just after the release of Microsoft Windows 2000 and was the primary Active Directory support engineer during the internal test and release cycles for Windows Server 2003.

Dustin Fraser is a senior. systems engineer on the Microsoft Information Technology (IT) Utility Services team. Dustin is responsible for designing and supporting data replication solutions within the Microsoft IT environment, including Distributed File System Replication (DFSR).
