Learn how networking within Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server code-named “Longhorn” operating systems enables more efficient data transfers and effective network management. In this session, we describe how policy-based Quality of Service in Windows Vista and Windows Server code-named “Longhorn” allows central management of host systems’ bandwidth. Other topics we cover include, defining flexible policies to prioritize and rate-limit network traffic based on conditions like applications, computers, and users and how the new networking stack and TCP Autotuning allow better utilization of wide-area and high-speed networks. 

Presenter: Eric Han, Program Manager, Microsoft Corporation

Eric Han is a program manager in the Windows Networking division, responsible for Quality of Service and HTTP service within the enterprise. Prior to his current role, Eric was a program manager within the Windows Server division, where he focused on IT professional management tools. Outside of work, Eric tries to understand why learning Tai Chi is so slow for him.
