Many companies have hundreds of Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programs running their day-to-day business processes. Development teams commonly wonder how they can take these programs to the next level of scalability and complexity. In this session, learn how you can extend your VBA programs with Microsoft Visual Basic or Visual C#, using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, to add support for new features such as the Ribbon, Custom Task Pane, and Form regions. We also show you how to take advantage of new Microsoft .NET Framework features such as LINQ, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) from your VBA application.

Presenter: Eric Carter, Principal Development Manager, Microsoft Corporation

Eric Carter is the development manager of the Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO) team at Microsoft. He helped invent, design, and implement many of the features that are in VSTO today. Previously at Microsoft, he worked on Visual Studio for Applications, the Visual Studio Macros integrated development environment (IDE), and Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications for Microsoft Office 2000 and Office 2003.
