In November 2010, Microsoft commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a study of 150 North American software development influencers. The purpose of the study was to understand the current state of application security development practices and identify key trends and market directions for application security.   This webcast discusses the findings: Application security is not a mature practice for many. In general, application security remains a tactical concern versus a strategic initiative. Accountability and incentives to promote secure software development are lacking. Organizations that employ a more coordinated, prescriptive approach saw more positive returns on investments.   This webcast will also discuss these findings in regard to Microsoft Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) and highlight industry leading best practices that any company can use in secure application development.

Presenters: Chenxi Wang, Ph.D., Vice President and Principal Analyst, Security and Risk, Forrester Research, Inc. and Doug Cavit, Principal Security Program Manager, Microsoft Corporation

Vice President and Principal Analyst, Security and Risk
