Event Overview

In this session, we provide a look under the hood of the enhanced and expanded Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) Presentation Platform delivered as part of the Windows Server 2008 operating system. We discuss key features—such as the RDP graphics stack and the new APIs—and why they are so important for the RDP Presentation Platform. In addition to these features, RDP includes a host of evolutionary improvements that together make Windows Server 2008 a compelling release. Terminal Services developers can add Dynamic Virtual Channel (DVC) interfaces to their toolbox that not only make their solutions more scalable and agile in the Terminal Services environment, but also work everywhere-with RDP and/or Independent Computing Architecture (ICA).

Presenter: Nelly Porter, Senior Program Manager Lead, Microsoft Corporation

Nelly Porter is the senior program manager lead for the Terminal Service Product Development team. She has been at Microsoft for five years, half of which she has worked as a proud member of Terminal Server team. Prior to joining Microsoft, Nelly was a developer and architect with HP Labs, working on high availability, clustering, and print and all-in-one kernel drivers. Nelly also worked at Scitex, Israel, writing kernel drivers and firmware for multi-operating system devices to support high-quality publishing rendering systems working in tandem with digital presses, plotters, and scanners.
