TechNet Webcast: Efficient Data Mining with Log Parser 2.2 (Level 300)  

In this session, we take a look at Log Parser, a powerful tool for queries against text-based data such as log files, XML, and Comma Separated Value (CSV) files. Log Parser is also a great tool for key data sources on the Windows operating system such as the Event Log, the registry, the file system, and the Active Directory directory system. We introduce you to Log Parser version 2.2, describe the input and output formats it can handle, and demonstrate how to use it. We also show you how to use Log Parser functions, output templates, and the check point functionality. We discuss how to create Log Parser queries specific to Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), and we explore the Log Parser version that is based on a Component Object Model (COM) object. This COM object enables you to run scripts against Log Parser using C# and Microsoft Visual Basic.
