Event Overview

In this webcast, we examine improvements to Group Policy in Windows Vista. We describe the new and updated features and show how they improve upon Group Policy functionality in previous versions of Windows. Because the number of Group Policy settings has increased significantly—from about 1,700 in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) to about 3,000 in Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows Server code-named “Longhorn”—our goal is to cover only the most significant improvements. This information should provide you with a good starting point for utilizing the new Group Policy settings. We also discuss the Quality of Service (QoS) policies in Windows Vista.
