Event Overview
|
This webcast explains how an application that you might think is secure can still be exploited due to production problems like misconfigurations and administrative errors. You will learn how to test a Web-based application for
critical security defects and view demonstrations of how to edit Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) query string data, power-on self test data, HTTP headers, and HTTP cookies. In addition, this webcast presents real-life examples of Web applications that were
exploited due to production problems. Attendees will receive an outline of best practices for configuring and managing Web applications.
Presenter: Dennis Hurst, Sr. Security Engineer, Microsoft Corporation
Dennis Hurst, senior consulting engineer for SPI Dynamics, teaches developers about the importance of security and how to protect their Web applications. Dennis has more than 15 years of experience in information systems and application development, with expertise
in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex multivendor, multiplatform computer applications and networks. For the past three years, he has focused on developing tools that test and secure the HTTP protocol.
