Event Overview
|
Over the past two years, Microsoft has learned a great deal about how to make threat modeling more useful to non-security engineers. Tune in as we cover some of those advances, including better data flow analysis, better threat
identification, attack surface analysis and reduction and finer grained analysis. The motto for threat modeling is now, "Do DFD, turn crank." Come see what we mean and understand how you can identify your threats to build more secure systems. This session
was one of the top-rated breakout sessions (DEV280) from Tech·Ed 2005 in Orlando, Florida.
Presenter: Michael Howard, Senior Security Program Manager, Secure Engineering Group, Microsoft Corporation
Michael is a senior security program manager in the Secure Engineering group at Microsoft and co-author of "Writing Secure Code." He is the primary author of "Designing Secure Web-based Applications for Windows 2000" and is working on a new security book to
be published Summer 2005. Michael's main focus in life is making sure people design, build, test, and document nothing short of a secure system. His favorite line is "One person's feature is another's exploit."
