Event Overview

The Media Center PC is becoming the "hub for whole-home entertainment." But did you know that creating software for Windows XP Media Center Edition is as easy as developing a Web site or writing a .NET class?  In this presentation, we show you how to enhance the Media Center user experience by creating hosted HTML applications, inspecting the properties of currently playing media, and controlling its playback. You will also see how to install and register your application with Media Center. In part two, we tackle managed add-ins.

Presenters: Glen Gordon and Susan Wisowaty, Developer Community Champions, Microsoft Corporation; Michael Earls, Consultant, Magenic

Glen Gordon has managed the design, implementation and deployment of enterprise software solutions built on Windows DNA and .NET architectures. Glen has worked extensively with Microsoft SQL Server and other members of the Microsoft server family.

Michael Earls is a Microsoft technology solutions consultant working for Magenic Technologies. He began his software development career in 1996 when Microsoft launched the Activate the Internet campaign and maintains a weblog at http://www.cerkit.com.
