Event Overview

Are you looking to migrate eVB applications to Microsoft .NET Compact Framework and Visual Studio .NET because of Windows Mobile-based devices?  Learn how to move your code from the eMbedded Visual Basic (eVB) environment to the Visual Basic .NET Compact Framework. This session will examine GUI conversion, menus, the input panel, and differences in the way each environment handles file access. We will also show you how to access local and remote SqlServerCE databases.

Presenter: Pete Vickers, Microsoft .NET Compact Framework MVP, GUI Innovations Limited

Pete Vickers runs GUI Innovations Limited, a company originally founded to market his GUI3000 product. After making a version of GUI3000 for the Pocket PC, he decided to devote more time to developing new PPC applications ranging from DLLs to RemoteSQLCe, which allows manipulation of SqlCE databases on the PC. Pete is a moderator on www.devbuzz.com for .NET Compact Framework (vb.net) and eVB. He is also a board member of www.opennetcf.org
