This time I will try to cover the origin and process of development of Indic scripts and general characteristics of the Language Computing scenario across Indic languages. During my recent visit to UK during Sept-Oct 2009, I had conducted several workshops
on Language Computing in Indic languages in various cities of UK including London, Bradford, and Cardiff. The participants were also from various walks of life including chartered accountants, computer professionals, doctors, and teachers etc. speaking different
languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, Gujarati, and Punjabi.
