Event Overview

This webcast describes effective techniques you can use to secure Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. Learn about the benefits and limitations of several different authentication methods, and the management and role of permissions in SharePoint groups. We also discuss different permission levels and highlight the new permissions that are available in SharePoint Server 2007. Other topics we cover include access rights, the configuration and topology of a typical Web farm, secure topology and communication, and security hardening.

Chris Avis began his career at Microsoft with a brief stint on the Windows NT Networking team. From there, he quickly moved to the Microsoft BackOffice Server and Windows Small Business Server support team, where he has been ever since. Chris is a MCT who shares his broad knowledge of the installation, networking configuration, and management that Microsoft products require. Chris considers himself a Texan, although he was born elsewhere.
