Event Overview
|
Impersonating a principal to perform work on the principal's behalf is a powerful capability of modern server environments. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 greatly improved traditional impersonation by introducing the
EXECUTE AS statement. SQL Server 2005 also can grant privileges to a caller’s context using code signing. This webcast covers both the
EXECUTE AS and code signing features, and shows how you can use them to improve the security and robustness of your SQL Server 2005 solutions. Using a resource database for a SQL Server 2005 application, this session demonstrates how the same
code can be shared among multiple databases and principals to achieve a high degree of code reusability and application instance isolation.
Presenter: Ruslan Ovechkin, Software Development Engineer, Microsoft Corporation and Steffen Krause, Evangelist, Microsoft Corporation
