Event Overview
|
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 make it easier than ever to create professional looking Windows Forms applications. This webcast will explore the new ToolStrip family of controls allowing you
to create applications with the look and feel of Microsoft products. We will show you how the new WebBrowser and ActiveDocumentHost controls allow you to integrate Web and document content into your applications. We will explore some of the new controls
such as SplitContainer, FlowLayoutPanel, and TableLayoutPanel along with some of the new control properties that provide improved support for localization, resizing, and data entry. This webcast will conclude with an examination of some of the other miscellaneous
control improvements you can implement to provide your applications with a more polished look and feel.
Presenter: Rory Blyth, MSDN Developer Community Champion, Microsoft Corporation
Rory Blyth cut his coding teeth on a Timex Sinclair 1000 back in 1983, and has been developing in one form or another ever since. Before joining Microsoft, he worked as an independent consultant, providing code and concepts to
companies of all shapes and sizes. He has experience with many different platforms and languages, but his passion lies in using and helping people understand .NET technologies. Rory also works as an author, and wrote his first book about the Linux Bash shell
and various Linux command line utilities. In his spare time Rory co-hosts the .NET Rocks internet talk show, writes a blog, keeps an eye on Longhorn, and writes the occasional song.
