Event Overview

Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 provide the infrastructure for enterprise communications including e-mail, voice, video, instant messaging (IM), conferencing, and unified messaging (UM). Building on this infrastructure, the Unified Communications (UC) Platform APIs provide a platform that you can leverage to build communications into your solutions, which adds incredible value for your users. Learn how to add communication features to your applications, including:

Launching IM, voice, and video communications from your application, using data from your application, to provide context directly in the conversation. Building SIP-enabled services that enable you to broadcast time-critical information via instant messaging.
Build automated IM agents that enable users to interact with back-end services and data securely and conveniently talking to an IM robot. Create voice UIs allowing your applications to leverage Text to Speech and Automatic Speech recognition to enable your workflows to communicate with voice users anywhere.

We demonstrate each capability and provide code samples to help you understand how each capability can be added to your solution. We also discuss the UC platform relative to your application's architecture and provide details on underlying protocols and security in solutions.
