TechNet Webcast: Managing Windows Server 2008 with Server Manager (Level 200)  

The Windows Server 2008 operating system makes significant improvements in server manageability with a one-stop administrative solution called Server Manager. This streamlined management tool empowers IT administrators to complete the setup of Windows Server using the Initial Configuration Tasks page and to configure and manage server roles, features with prescriptive wizards, a unified management console, and a command-line interface. Server Manager is built on the Service Modeling Language (SML) platform, which is used to model complex IT services and systems in software, including structure, constraints, configuration, and best practices. In this webcast, we present and demonstrate the configuration and management capabilities of Server Manager and discuss how Server Manager takes advantage of the model-based management infrastructure provided by the SML platform. We also introduce some new features of Server Manager in the Windows Server 2008 Release Candidate (RC) release, including integration of the Windows Server virtualization role and Remote Server Administration Tools.

Huong Nguyen is a program manager on Server Manager team. She helped design the UI for Server Manager in the Windows Server 2008 operating system. She was also in charge of releasing Remote Server Administration Tools for the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) operating system. On the personal side, she likes doing yoga and hiking.
 
Silvio Kuczynski has worked as a software developer for several years and joined Microsoft almost a year ago. He works on the test team for Server Manager where he focuses on making it a quality product. On the personal side, he is a long-distance runner currently training for the Sao Paulo Marathon and he keeps marine aquarium fish as a hobby.
