Event Overview
|
Two features of Microsoft® ASP.NET enabled what is often called 'xcopy' deployment. The first feature is shadow copying, which we covered in lecture two. The second feature is the XML-based configuration, which means that it
is possible to configure your application by updating a text file on your server. This talk looks at the details of configuration in ASP.NET, including the XML format used, hierarchical application of configuration files, and common configuration settings.
This is the sixth presentation in the 15-part Essential ASP.NET- A Webcast Series for the Web Developer.
Presenter: Fritz Onion, Partner, Pluralsight, LLC
Fritz is a co-founder of Pluralsight where he focuses on Web development with ASP.NET. He is the author of the book 'Essential ASP.NET' published by Addison Wesley, available in both C# and Visual Basic .NET editions. A second edition will cover ASP.NET
2.0. Fritz also frequently publishes articles on .NET and is a regular speaker at industry conferences as is acting as the track chair for Web development at Win-Dev in Boston.
