Event Overview
|
The HTTP specification calls out many, many status codes. If these are in the 200 range, life is good. Status codes in the 300s indicate the object isn't where the user thought it was, and a 400 code just means that a problem
exists in the handshake between the client and the server. However, the return of a 500 level status code is an explicit cause for administrator alarm. It is the only instance in which the server sends a response to a user saying that the server is simply
unable to process the request--and the server is to blame. In this webcast, we will dive into different error messages such as the generic 500 “Internal Server Error” message and the 500.100 independent sub-status codes. If you have ever spent time in your
log files and recognized that IIS is returning these errors, and you would like to know how to troubleshoot appropriately, then you will find this session to be invaluable.
