TechNet Webcast: Infrastructure Optimization with the Microsoft Assessment and Planning Solution Accelerator (Level 300)  

This session will explore how Microsoft® Assessment and Planning Solution Accelerator (MAP) tool can make it easier for you to assess your current IT infrastructure and determine the right Microsoft technologies for your IT needs. It is a powerful inventory, assessment, and reporting tool that can securely inventory computer hardware, software, and operating systems in small or large IT environments—without installing any agent software on the target computers. We will begin by discussing MAP capabilities and features for determining software and hardware needs throughout your IT infrastructure. The topics will include how MAP works to assess computers throughout the organization and operating systems that it supports. Then we will explore how MAP can simplify the planning process for migrating to Windows 7 and Office 2007. Next, we will examine how MAP can be used for Application Virtualization. Then, we will cover migration to Windows Server 2008 R2. Finally we explore how MAP can be used to consolidate Servers to Hyper-V.
