Event Overview
|
This session will focus on considerations for managing identity in the enterprise. Identity management is about developing efficient and effective mechanisms for maintaining
the identity information an organisation holds about employees so that roles and responsibilities and the position within the organisation can be clearly identified. Effective Identity and Access Management reduces re-keying and promotes data quality whilst
increasing security. It underpins any application that needs to identify individuals within an organisation including single sign-on and role based access systems.
Most organisations Identity systems have evolved over time, leading to an accumulation of systems and standards for storing, managing and using digital identities. Often, these
systems include directory services and other identity information repositories such as HR databases, financial systems, time recording, and custom applications, as well as various web sites for employees. The complexities of having multiple identity systems
and standards results in higher costs, management overhead and security vulnerabilities, due to the increase in attack surface. Meta-directories address some of this pain, however no single product provides all the answers; this session will look at the technology
that plays a part in this area and the approaches you can take to start building identity strategies and solutions for your enterprise today.
