Event Overview
|
In this session, we look at the new configuration system in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) version 7.0. Learn how Microsoft improved IIS 7.0 configuration through the use of a
file-based hierarchical configuration system, giving you much greater flexibility when configuring IIS 7.0 than was available in earlier versions of IIS. We demonstrate how to delegate the administration of server, Web site, and Web application settings to
non-administrator users and how to control the delegation of these settings so that only the settings you wish other users to modify are available to them. We also examine the new IIS Manager and the new managed API on which it is built, showing how you can
use the IIS Manager to carry out IIS 7.0 administration tasks from a GUI and how to manage and control the IIS 7.0 server and Web sites programmatically.
Presenter: Bryan Von Axelson, IT Pro Evangelist, Microsoft Corporation
Maybe he lived in Kansas for too long, but Bryan Von Axelson (who now resides in Pennsylvania) compares IT professionals to the Wizard of Oz, working behind the curtain to keep everything running smoothly. In addition to his Microsoft credentials and certifications,
Bryan has been a national speaker for the tax software industry and participated in several business and computer radio shows. He also recently presented a one-hour Microsoft SQL Server webcast that reached more than 800 people a week for 10 consecutive weeks.
Bryan brings infectious enthusiasm, excitement, and most importantly, hands-on knowledge to his TechNet presentations.
