Event Overview
|
Simulcast from Microsoft Tech·Ed 2007 in Orlando, FL.
Still doing administration from the GUI? Well, that works, of course—but while GUIs are nice for now-and-then tasks, you can get a lot more done from the command line and, even better, you can stuff your favorite command lines into Microsoft Notepad to create
the world's simplest administration tool.
Presenter: Mark Minasi, Chief Scientist, MR&D
Mark Minasi is the author or coauthor of 25 computer and networking books, including Administering Windows Vista Security: The Big Surprises (Sybex, 2006) and Mastering Windows Vista Business: Ultimate, Business, and Enterprise (Sybex, 2007). Since 1986, Mark
has been writing monthly columns for computer publications such as Windows IT Pro magazine. He is frequently a keynote and breakout speaker at conferences and is known for bringing humor into even the most technical topics. Mark is also the author of the "chml"
utility program for the Windows Vista operating system, which allows administrators to view and modify the Windows integrity level and policy of any file or folder. Mark is an MSCE and a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP). You can learn more about
him at his Web site, www.minasi.com.
