Event Overview

Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 addresses growing user and IT requirements by taking a radically new approach to sizing and architecting an Exchange Server solution. This webcast considers the resource demands of an Exchange Server 2003 messaging environment, and examines the architectural limitations of 32-bit technology. We then discuss some of the hardware advancements in Exchange Server 2007, such as how x64 architectures, dual-core processors, and storage technologies like serial ATA (SATA) and serial attached SCSI (SAS) play a key role in migrating to Exchange Server 2007. Finally, we describe the architectural changes that will influence the sizing and configuration of Exchange servers, including a look at some preliminary findings on the effect of x64 on the performance and scalability of an Exchange Server 2007 environment.
